[HAPPY WINTERSTIDE DION.

Dion will receive a somewhat hefty package, and inside there will be a basic, beginner's tool's set with a How To book on how to use them and some other things. He'll also be a little cheeky and give Dion a stationary set with the letter "D" embossed on the box and a quill and ink set.

Attached with it is a small card.]

We may still be getting acquainted, but I do look forward to working with you further in the future. You may think this gift is a joke — and the letter set is — but thought you could use a set of your own in case you should need it. Will definitely be useful on the ship ;)

Dear Cid,

I am humbled by your thoughtful gifts. Whether you are kidding or not, I would be a fool to turn down something so useful, even if I don't know how to use the tools. I appreciate the booklet, as well as the stationary, even if you meant for that to be a joke.

It pains me to admit my ill manners in not having prepared a gift, but I will propose instead to purchase you a meal at your earliest convenience. Please forgive me this, I was not prepared. I will reflect on this in the future, undoubtedly.

[Cid is actually a little amused that he did use the set, but there's a light smile before he'll respond in kind. Shellphone texting is certainly easier and faster, but he cannot deny the more natural feeling of ink and paper.]

No need to worry about manners or anything like that, lad, I just went along with the traditions of this world and decided to send all of you something.

But I will happily accept your invitation. I imagine Eltrut would be a better place to meet, so how about in a week or so? Wouldn't want to get in the way of your own obligations.

[It's only a coincidence that it's February 14th (because this holiday probably doesn't exist in their world) but Dion will find a small bouquet of red roses left for him in his cabin on The Hideaway's ship. Joshua has been writing with someone through messages in a bottle and the suggestion to give flowers had come up.]

[ It's a lovely gesture. He's not typically one to receive flowers, so it's all the more charming that he did. Roses, as well, not wyvern tails which would be a true novelty.

Dion doesn't have flowers at the ready, but he does write a note in elegant script to leave in Joshua's cabin in return. ]

Thank you for your wonderful gesture. Please consider joining me for a drink this evening, I have something that you may like.

[How could Joshua ever refuse? The found message has butterflies battering around in his stomach when he reads it. Funny, how a simple gesture like giving flowers would make Joshua feel so silly and happy at the same time. He will have to tell his penpal about it.

He'll meet Dion just as promised. The same little place they've had a drink or two a few times now. Like clockwork.]

Dion, I hope I did not keep you waiting.

You did not. Thank you for doing me the pleasure of gracing me with your company.

[ He offers a sweeping bow and tries to capture his hand so he can press his lips to Joshua's fingers. Ever the prince when he wants to be. ]

Your evening finds you well?

[It's strange, Joshua is very much used to royal formalities but Dion's gesture has Joshua's cheeks feeling very warm. Why must he be like a maiden... Glowing on her first day toward love.]

Very well, thank you.

[He murmurs softly as he allows Dion's lips on his fingers.]

A night with you is most welcome, Dion.

The pleasure is mine. [ He only lets go of Joshua's hand so he can get him a drink, there's definitely a bottle of wine available. He will pour them each a glass and return. ]

Thank you for your gift. It was very thoughtful.

[His smile grows as he takes one of the glasses.]

You're welcome. I admit, it was a bit of a spur of the moment sort of thing. [He laughs lightly.] And I figure something with a little more meaning than a flower on a war table.

[Since the last flower he gave Dion was just that.]

It was appreciated all the same. [ Even back then, a gift is still that. ]

I asked for your presence because I also found something that might interest you.

[ Dion produces a plain looking box, but inside are two dragon bracelets. ]

I've been told that wearing these will let the other know where we are or how to find us...something to that effect.

Oh?

[Joshua's tone is immediately curious. He reaches out gingerly to open the plain-looking box. The pair of matching bracelets inside are very eye-catching. Very pretty.]

They have the ability to find the other wearer? That's ... [Kind of romantic.] That's very intricate, Dion. Did you pick them... for us?

[He's never received a gift like this before...]

While they are a gift and you could certainly exchange them with whoever you choose, I would not deny that was what I had in mind.

[ He smiles. ]

Although I also found the dragon design to be very pleasing.

[As Dion speaks Joshua is already reaching out and taking the bracelets and immediately taking Dion's wrist in his hand.]

To share these gifts with another would be a terrible decision on my part.

[Why would he ever share these beautiful bracelets with anyone else?]

They are beautiful.

[The dragon design. Wearing something like this will remind Joshua of Dion everyday.]

I cherish your trust and I promise not to use them unnecessarily. [ Not that he really has to say so. He lets Joshua have his wrist without complaint. If he wants it, he can have it. ]

It seems as though dragons are popular around here. I cannot really say the same for our world, outside of Sanbreque.

[Joshua will gently slide his fingers over Dion's wrist. Perhaps in a bit of an intimate way as he slides the first bracelet over Dion's wrist to fasten it.]

And I you. I think these might prove to be quite a fun statement. I wonder what Jill and Clive might say about them.

[He looks a bit playful at Dion and then nods.]

They may not be as popular in our world but I always found dragons to be fascinating. Such beautiful and regal creatures. I'm more than over the moon that I have a chance to see them up close here.

[ Dion offers a light chuckle. ]

I'm expecting to hear Clive's thoughts any day now. [ He's not entirely avoiding Clive, but he's fairly certain the man is shooting him looks more often than not. ]

That certainly was something, wasn't it? Dragons have a bad reputation for destruction, but more than likely it's because their territories have been encroached upon.

[He smiles softly...]

There is nothing wrong with being the protective sort.

[He glances up at Dion as he finishes fastening the bracelet to his wrist. Of course he means Dion. Dion is the protective dragon.]

[ He cannot help himself, he pulls Joshua into a hug once his bracelet is secure. He speaks lowly into his ear. ]

I suppose I cannot avoid that part of myself.

[ Dion is definitely protective – but he’s not controlling or anything of the sort. ]

[The hug feels very good. Joshua practically melts into it, enjoying the feeling of Dion's arms around him. And he returns his arms around Dion as well.]

It's one of my favourites.

[He'll smiles against Dion's shoulder.]

I am continuously flattered by you.

[ That seems fairly important to point out, Joshua should be able to get a glimpse at how he feels. ]

If you will indulge me- [ Dion will take the opportunity to kiss him once more since he’s in his arms already – half the work is already done. ]

I am nothing if not pleased that you have enjoyed my gift.

[A warmth spreads through his cheeks. He will gently return the kiss with a small tilt of his head upwards. His eyes flutter close to enjoy the joy and sweetness of Dion's lips.

When they part, Joshua's eyes are shyly half-lidded.]

And I you, I find you continuously more charming than I could ever be.

[He smiles. His eyes drift to the matching bracelet on his own wrist.]

I will cherish this with all my heart.

[ His reaction, the glance down at the bracelet warms Dion’s heart. He smiles a little and touches his wrist to Joshua’s. ]

You honour me. Thank you for your consideration. You are truly a vibrant soul and I am ever fortunate to know you, Joshua.

[ Dion touches his forehead to Joshua’s. ]

[When the bracelets touch with a tiny little jingle Joshua's heart skips a beat. And it does again when Dion brings his forehead close to his.]

Dion. [How sweetly romantic... Dion really is a perfect prince.] Any sweeter and I may feel faint.

[He smiles softly.]

[ He chuckles lightly. ]

We cannot have that, perish the thought. I will restrain myself.

[ He could try and charm Joshua more, but he really doesn’t have to and if it sounds like he’s teasing him well...maybe a little bit. ]

[He laughs softly again. Then he dares to steal another soft kiss. He quite likes teasing Dion just a little bit. It's so harmless and just enough.

This sort of happiness... It's so rare for Joshua to feel. He wants to keep feeling it.]

Now, shall we finish this night with dinner together?

[They are here at this nice tavern, why not? Make it a whole date.]

That sounds like wonderful idea to me. [ Dion responds after the small kiss because there's no reason not to have dinner together, of course.

Then again he needs no excuse to spend time with Joshua. ]

I hope they have something hearty, I'm realizing in this moment I am quite hungry.

I think a night like tonight calls for us to order anything that we wish.

[A hearty dinner together, it is. Bring on the delicious steak.]
